Marshall has been celebrated by some of the world’s greatest bands and musicians including: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Slash, Oasis, Muse, Gorillaz and Slaves. They can be seen on tour with artists like Justin Timberlake and Lana Del Rey. However, none of this would be possible without founder and revolutionary, Jim Marshall OBE.
Jim was born in London on 29 July 1923 and as a child he suffered with tubercular bones which meant that he spent much of his early years hospitalised to the age of 13. At his father’s suggestion he took up tap dancing to strengthen the bones in his legs and he soon discovered that he had a flair for music.
Subsequently Jim took up the drums and by the late 1930’s he was teaching and playing professionally. After over 20 years gigging on the road on 7 July 1962, Jim opened a music store, Jim Marshall and Son, in Hanwell, London.

Woburn II hits high trebles cleanly, handles low bass with ease and has a clear, lifelike mid range. Two 1″ tweeters and dual 5.25″ subwoofers are individually powered by class D amps for a total of 110 watts of power. The wooden cabinet construction helps provide a warm, natural sound and the bass reflex system includes a port to increase efficiency at low frequencies.

Located on the front of the speaker is a brass plate, etched with the establishment date of 1962 – a subtle nod to the brand’s heritage and over 50 years of loud. In addition to the analogue control knobs, you can use the Marshall Bluetooth app to customise your listening experience or control the music you’re listening to. Use the app to switch between EQ presets, set up stereo or ambient mode and adjust the intensity of the LED lights on the top panel. You can also wake up your speaker or put it into standby mode in a matter of seconds.
